In recent years, more women of color have been elected to office in the United States. These actors are often understudied, or ignored altogether, yet they play a pivotal role in American democracy. A special issue of the Journal of Women, Politics, and Policy centers women of color political elites, and it contains cutting-edge research by senior and junior scholars alike.
