I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
I study democratic representation and accountability, and factors that impede it. My main area of research is the role of money in politics. I also work on the measurement of elite political communication, and analyze its causes and consequences.
My first book is called “Money in Politics” (Cambridge University Press), and my articles have appeared in the American Political Science Review, the American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, and the British Journal of Political Science, among others.
